This Privacy Policy explains how Kainolab ("we") handles information in connection with the Historr macOS app and the historr.com website. Our guiding principle is simple: collect as little as possible.
The Historr app is 100% local
Your clipboard history never leaves your Mac. The app stores everything you copy locally on your device only. We have no servers, no cloud sync, no account, and no telemetry. We cannot see your clipboard, and nothing you copy is ever transmitted to us or any third party.
Copies marked sensitive by other apps (for example, password managers) are ignored automatically, and items that look like card numbers, one-time codes, or tokens can be set to auto-expire — all on your device.
What the website collects
When you use this website, we process:
- Your email address — only if you enter it in the download form. We use it to send you occasional updates about Historr.
- Aggregate download counts — an anonymous tally of how many times the app has been downloaded. This is not linked to you.
How your email is used and stored
Submitted emails are stored in a private spreadsheet (Google Sheets) used solely to send Historr product updates. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for their marketing. You can unsubscribe or request deletion at any time by emailing hello@historr.com.
Third-party services
The website is hosted on Vercel, and email submissions are recorded via Google Sheets. These providers process data on our behalf and may log standard technical information (such as IP addresses) as part of delivering their service. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the email you submitted. Contact us at hello@historr.com and we'll act on your request promptly.
Children
Historr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
